Ready to Welcome a Beautiful Birman Kitten Into Your Home?
Imagine coming home to those soulful sapphire blue eyes, soft silky fur, and gentle purrs of a loving Birman kitten. At Kyatwo Birmans, our kittens are more than pets—they’re family from day one, raised with love and care to bring joy and companionship into your life.
We understand that choosing the right breeder is a big decision, and we’re truly honored that you’re considering our cattery. We take immense pride in our breeding program, which focuses on producing kittens with exceptional health, temperament, and beauty while ensuring they become cherished family members.
If you’re interested in adopting, the first step is to complete our detailed adoption questionnaire. This allows us to understand your lifestyle, living situation, experience with cats, and what you’re hoping for in a kitten. By learning about you, we can carefully match you with the Birman kitten that best fits your home and personality, ensuring a lasting and happy relationship.
Our Unique Breeding Program: Rare Zero Pedigrees
We specialize in Birman cats with seal, blue, and occasionally chocolate points, while intentionally avoiding the tabby point pattern. One of the unique aspects of our program is our commitment to maintaining “zero pedigrees,” meaning our lines are free from the tabby pattern, silver, and red color factors. This rare distinction in Birman breeding ensures that our kittens have a carefully curated, exclusive lineage.
Our registration numbers begin with zero, symbolizing the purity and care invested in maintaining our bloodlines. By avoiding these genetic factors, we preserve the finest qualities of the Birman breed—plush coats, striking blue eyes, and silky-soft fur. This dedication means your kitten will be as close to the original Birman standard as possible, making them both stunning and highly sought after.
Why Our Kittens Are Truly Special
We raise our kittens indoors in a warm, nurturing environment surrounded by family members. From birth, they receive constant love, gentle handling, and plenty of human interaction. This early socialization helps them develop the affectionate, playful, and confident temperament that Birmans are famous for.
By spending time with people daily, our kittens grow relaxed and comfortable around humans, making it easier for them to adjust smoothly when they move to their new homes. This foundation is key to raising happy, well-adjusted cats who become lifelong companions.
When Are Our Kittens Ready for Their Forever Homes?
Our Birman kittens usually leave us between 14 and 16 weeks of age. This timing allows them to mature physically, develop social skills, and be fully weaned and independent before joining your family.
By waiting until this age, we ensure that each kitten is emotionally ready for the transition and better equipped to adapt quickly to new surroundings, people, and routines.
Comprehensive Health Care for Every Kitten
Your kitten’s health and well-being are our top priorities. Before any kitten leaves our care, they receive:
-
A thorough veterinary examination by our trusted vet
-
All age-appropriate vaccinations, including core vaccines to protect against common feline diseases
-
Routine deworming treatments to ensure they are parasite-free
We also regularly test all breeding cats for FeLV (Feline Leukemia Virus), FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus), and HCM (Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy) to ensure kittens are free from genetic or infectious conditions.
For your peace of mind, we provide a 1-year health guarantee against genetic disorders, underscoring our commitment to the long-term well-being of every kitten.
Trupanion Health Coverage for Extra Peace of Mind
To help protect your kitten during their important first few weeks in your care, every adoption includes 30 days of Trupanion health insurance. This coverage activates when you register your certificate and helps cover unexpected accidents or illnesses as your kitten settles into their new home.
Kitten Pricing and Quality Standards
Our kittens are priced at $2,500 each, reflecting the care and unique qualities they inherit from our breeding program.
Show-quality kittens—those meeting the highest standards for conformation, type, and markings—are priced at $3,000. We evaluate each kitten not only for appearance but also for temperament and personality to ensure they meet our high standards.
Understanding the Difference Between Show and Pet Quality Kittens
Pet Quality:
Pet-quality kittens are just as lovable and beautiful but may have minor deviations from strict breed standards, like asymmetrical gloves (the white fur on their paws), slight variances in ear placement, or a tail that’s a bit shorter than ideal. These small details keep them from competing in shows but don’t detract from their charm or affectionate personalities. Pet-quality Birmans make wonderful companions, bringing love, elegance, and grace into any home.
Show Quality:
Show-quality Birmans meet the breed’s high standards perfectly. Their white gloves are symmetrical, ears ideally placed, and proportions balanced. These kittens embody the classic Birman look and are often reserved for breeders or cat show enthusiasts dedicated to preserving the breed’s legacy.
One of the most distinctive features of show-quality Birmans is the precise placement and symmetry of their white gloves—a notoriously difficult trait to perfect. The white fur should extend neatly between the joints and toes on the front paws and slightly higher on the rear legs, ending in sharp points. This ideal glove placement makes show-quality kittens rare and highly prized.
Importance of White Gloves in Breeding
While gloves are just one factor in determining show quality, they play a significant role in breeding decisions. A Birman without gloves can still produce kittens with gloves, but this raises the risk of passing on glove faults or undesirable white spots elsewhere on the body, considered serious flaws that disqualify cats from shows.
Common glove faults include:
-
Asymmetrical gloves
-
Colored tufts within the white gloves
-
Patches of colored fur breaking up the gloves
-
Gloves extending too high or too low
-
“Runners,” where the gloves climb too far up the legs
-
Missing the distinctive “upside-down V” shape on the rear legs
-
Missing gloves on one or more toes or feet
Our Position on Declawing
We do not support declawing. With proper scratching posts and gentle training, Birmans quickly develop excellent scratching habits that protect your home while respecting their instincts and well-being.
Refunds and Exchanges
While we don’t offer cash refunds, you can apply your adoption fee toward another kitten in the future or, if available, exchange for a different kitten—subject to approval and availability.
